Cricut Safety Policy

These are general safety guidelines before use of any Cricut product available in the Revere Public Library’s Creative Cove. The RPL is not responsible for any incident or injury resultant from improper use of Cricut products. Please see our Creative Cove Safety Policy for further details.

1. User Manual Familiarity

Before use of any Cricut product, patrons should familiarize themselves with the user product manuals. This includes machine features, safety warnings and guidelines, and maintenance instructions. 2. Workspace Safety

Keep area clear around Cricut products and supplies. Patrons should keep any and all food and drinks away from Cricut electronic devices and/or Cricut devices/irons. Proper space and ventilation should be maintained when working with heat and vinyl in tandem.

3. Proper Attire

To ensure safety, patrons should take necessary precautions in securing any loose items (long hair, loose clothing or jewelry) when working in close proximity with Cricut products with moving parts/blades.

4. Machine Upkeep

If patrons find a Cricut product to be damaged, missing parts, or not working in proper order, please alert a staff member.

5. Outside Materials

Outside/non-brand name vinyl materials are allowed. It is emphasized that Cricut materials are most recommended for best results.

6. Further Safety

Only plug Cricut machines into grounded outlets to avoid overloading power strips. As with working with any blade, the Rotary, Fine-Point, Bonded Fabric, Knife, Wavy, and Perforation Blade are listed for specific uses in the user manuals (listed above). Patrons should use any and all Cricut products and machines for their intended use. Any use that damages or abuses the use of Cricut products may result in the loss of privileges.
